All of our tin is available in multiple patterns. Please have a look over all of the options before deciding on your design. If you have any questions about the correct match for your decór, feel free to give us a call. Our years of experience with decorative metal have given us an expertise in the field that is probably unmatched anywhere else in the country. We can tell you the origins of any of these patterns, whether they would fit historically with a Victorian or Modern design concept, what panel patterns match which cornices, or anything else you're interested in.
For ceiling installations, we can use many patterns that aren't listed here. Many of the most ornate historic patterns require a level of installation expertise we wouldn't trust anyone else in the business with, so we don't sell them to the trade. If you're looking for something truly unique, though, contact us and we can propose something that we promise will be breath-taking.
Selecting the right type of pattern for your project:
Backsplashes are typically done in three or six inch patterns. Because of the small area covered and the amount of wear these surfaces undergo, we don't recommend anything larger.
Small Ceilings (i.e. rooms 10'x12' or smaller, corridors, or irregularly shaped areas) usually work best in a 12" repeating pattern, with a smaller or larger cornice depending on the height of the ceiling.
Larger ceilings offer up the most creative possibilities. Typically the ceiling will be designed with a field either of 12" or 24" panels or a large medallion in the center of the ceiling, immediately surrounded by a strip of molding, outside of which the rest of the ceiling is composed of a filler, which can either be a smaller related pattern or something entirely different. The filler is bounded on the outsides by cornicing, which delineates the boundary between ceiling and walls.
As with any art form, however, tin ceilings — even historically accurate ones — are not confined to these simple rules. Once you learn the rules, you gain a sense of when to creatively break them. If you need help visualizing the possibilities of your ceiling, we can draw up sketches of various designs before we go into the job. We are also working on an online interactive ceiling builder that can provide real-time images of different ceiling options.
